Why a HydroXcel Hydrogen Fuel Cell Power Plant

CHP up to 90% Efficiency
Cogeneration captures stack heat as 65°C hot water — up to 96 kW of thermal power and 2 t/h of hot water on the 100 kW model, pushing overall efficiency far beyond any generator.

-30°C Cold Start
Dedicated cold-start units bring the plant from -30°C to idle in under 10 minutes — proven for northern climates and high-altitude sites.

Containerized & Plug-and-Play
From 250 kW up, the entire plant ships in a standard 20-ft container — drop it on a concrete pad, connect hydrogen and power, and commission in days, not months.

Grid-Tied or Off-Grid
Every model runs islanded; grid-tied operation with impact and lightning protection is standard on the 500 kW. Active + passive safety chains with hydrogen and fire detection throughout.
Fire Control & Safety System
Hydrogen-electric separation, with active and passive protection working as one coordinated system — engineered for fully unattended operation.

Active — Monitor & Prevent
- Hydrogen supply valve train: relief valve, check valve, flame damper and pressure monitoring
- Hydrogen concentration sensors scan continuously for leaks
- Abnormal readings trigger early warning and automatic shutdown
Passive — Detect & Respond
- Temperature and smoke sensors plus hydrogen flame detectors
- Automatic hydrogen cut-off and emergency shutdown
- Local fire suppression activates to contain incidents on the spot
The two layers work as one: active components watch operating conditions around the clock and eliminate risks before they grow; passive systems detect heat, smoke or flame and respond in seconds — cutting hydrogen, shutting down and suppressing fire locally.
The Models

HX-50K-WG
The industrial entry point: three-phase 415V power with a 25 kWh buffer battery that ramps to full output within 3 minutes.

HX-100K-WG
The CHP champion: ≥85% combined efficiency with 96 kW of heat and 2 t/h of 65°C hot water, plus a -30°C, 10-minute cold start.

HX-160K-WG
Twin 100 kW stacks with standard cogeneration and a 5 m³ insulated water tank — distributed power and heat for factories and communities.

HX-250K-WG
Four 80 kW stacks in a 20-ft container — a quarter-megawatt of zero-emission power that installs on a concrete pad in days.

HX-300K-WG
Three 130 kW stacks on the same 20-ft containerized platform as the 250K — more power, same footprint, same fast deployment.

HX-500K-WG
The flagship: half a megawatt in a 20-ft container with 95% hydrogen utilization, 90% CHP overall efficiency, and grid-tied + off-grid dual mode.
Where These Plants Work

Frequently Asked Questions
What is CHP and how much value does it add?
CHP (combined heat and power) captures the stack’s waste heat as usable hot water instead of venting it. On the 100 kW model that means an extra 96 kW of thermal power — raising overall efficiency from ~50% to over 85%, and to 90% on the 500 kW. If your site uses hot water or heating, CHP roughly doubles the value of every kilogram of hydrogen.
What hydrogen supply do these plants need?
Models from 50–160 kW take 0.8–1.5 MPa supply; 250–500 kW take 1.5 MPa, all at ≥99.99% purity. We design the complete supply side — tube trailers, cylinder bundles or on-site storage — see our hydrogen storage systems and hydrogen compressors.
Can these plants run off-grid?
Yes — every model operates fully islanded, with buffer batteries handling startup and load transients. The 500 kW adds grid-tied mode with grid-impact and lightning protection for utility-interactive installations.
What does installation require?
Cabinet models (50–160 kW) need an indoor or sheltered pad with ventilation; container models (250–500 kW) sit outdoors on a level concrete pad with hydrogen supply, water and power connections. A 500 kW plant is typically commissioned within days of delivery.
Do you offer smaller or larger systems?
Smaller: our 5–20 kW water-cooled generators and 250W–3kW air-cooled systems. Larger: multi-megawatt plants are built by paralleling container units — talk to our engineers about your MW-scale project.
